General Information

Mongolia is one of the last almost pristine places on our planet, a place where we can still travel and live like our ancestors from centuries past. Once the largest empire in the world, today reduced to steppes of infinite shapes, caressed by lakes and rivers of ancient tales.

This is an expedition that follows a very little explored route, for those who like challenges and privilege contact with the local culture and wildlife. Passing through six national parks in all-road vans, we cross the most varied landscapes, and observe several animal species that roam freely through the infinite Mongolian landscapes.

Departing from UlaanBaatar to the far west in the Altai, where we will attend the ancestral Eagle Festival at the Altai, one of the oldest traditional game festivals in the world, mentioned in Marco Polo’s travel chronicles. Along the way we cross deserts and forests, oases and volcanoes, mountains and steppes.

Tour highlights:

Travelling in Mongolia can be very challenging, but with incredible compensation. The untouched landscapes, many without any trace of civilization, the permanent contact with nature and the ancestral traditions of the nomadic peoples make that, in the middle of the XXI century, it is an enormous privilege to be able to witness and live first-hand a way of life that we have only read in the history books.

On this tour we will visit 5 Parks and Nature Reserves, and witness the culture, part of it also UNESCO cultural heritage, such as the Festival of the Eagles in the Altai, which Marco Polo already described in his travel stories through Mongolia by Genghis Khaan or the Mongolian throat singing.
