You may have noticed we have an eagle as the symbol on our logo.
Well, first and foremost, there is all the symbolism associated with the eagle. This is not by chance! unusual voyages was founded by Tânia Neves, an absolute passionate for Mongolian culture and tour leader to Mongolia.
And then, those who know us personally have also noticed we also have an eagle’s claw on our office keychain.
The choice of the eagle as our logo came naturally, rooted in a lasting relationship with Mongolia and the deep respect for the cultures that call this land home. For many, the eagle symbolizes endurance, strength, and connection to the wild. It was during our first official tour, to the Eagle Hunters Festival in Mongolia, that the symbolism really resonated with the values of unusual voyages. Witnessing Kazakh eagle hunters work in harmony with their eagles in the Altai Mountains was a powerful reminder of how tradition and resilience go hand in hand.
In fact, my connection to these traditions goes back even further. During a 2018 trip to film Spirit Animal, a documentary exploring the cultural bond between humans and animals, the Kazakh eagle hunter we were living with gifted me an eagle claw. Today, it’s a keepsake on our office keychain at the Ericeira Business Factory – a symbol of our commitment to experiencing and respecting diverse cultures.
So, the eagle in our logo stands for more than just a majestic bird; it represents the endurance, curiosity, and perspective we bring to each unusual voyage.
Like the eagle, we aim to see the world widely, bridging distances and fostering genuine connections along the way.
