Meet David, the photographer and founder of Origin Expeditions, who, together with Tânia Neves will lead our group into Ancient China.
“My name is David (@david.dhaen.wtp). I was born and raised in a small village in Belgium 🇧🇪
I’m a painter who gave a new twist to his life.
It all started when i was 29. Happy but not satisfied with my life goals. I decided to quit my normal life and go on a small adventure.
A year and half later, i returned home from traveling all Southeast Asia, Australia, India and Nepal. Crossing the entire continent of Africa from North to South.
The end? No – it was just the beginning.
This adventure sparked my interest in Photography. I bought myself my first DSLR camera, second hand. I taught myself to use it and so my new adventure begun.
I travelled the whole American continent from Ushuaia to Alaska. Using buses, hitchhiking, boats and Rental Cars.
After this trip my passion took new heights as I travelled from Europe to Japan , mainly by land , using the old silk road crossing Iran, the Stans, the steppes of winter Mongolia , Korea and finishing in Japan.
Life gave me a new purpose, follow my dream, explore the world and capture it’s natural beauty. Although I have several interests, the exploration of remote tribes became my biggest passion. Especially because many will fade away in short time.
Life will continue, but our time is limited, so we should embrace it and spend it wisely…
I have been to 126 countries, most of which I visited 2 to 5 times.”
